How Can I Amend Corporate Tax Registration UAE

How Can I Amend the Corporate Tax Registration Under the Emaratax Portal

In June 2023, the UAE introduced corporate tax (CT) for businesses. Every eligible business must register for CT. If a business doesn’t register, it can face penalties from the FTA. After registration, a company might need to change its CT registration because of changes in business structure or operations. Making these changes is important for staying compliant and avoiding problems.

The FTA wants to help registered businesses keep their information up-to-date. So, the FTA created clear guidelines for amending CT registration in the Emaratax portal. These steps make it easier for you to manage your tax information.

Key Points About Amendments

  • Not every field in the portal can be changed.
  • Only fields with gray shading can be amended using the amend option under the taxable person details tab.
  • The taxpayer must already be registered before starting an amendment.
  • You must apply for the amendment and get approval from the authority.

Steps to Amend The CT Registration

You must follow each step carefully to avoid mistakes:

  • First, log in to your Emaratax account. You can use your regular login credentials or your UAE Pass.
  • If you forget your password, click the “Forgot Password” tab to reset it.
  • After logging in, go to the homepage and find the taxable person list. Click “View” to open your dashboard.
  • On the dashboard, click the three dots (…) on the corporate tax tile. From the options, select “Amend.”
  • You will see a page called “Instructions and Guidelines.” This page explains the required documents and information you need before you begin.
  • After reading, click the “Confirm” button at the bottom.
  • Next, click the “Start” button on the bottom right to move forward.
  • The portal takes you to the “Entity Details” section. There are five subsections here. You need to review every section and fill in all the mandatory fields before moving on.
  • Click “Enable Editing” on the right side of the page to make changes in the entity details.
  • If you don’t have all your documents or if your internet fails, you can save your application as a draft by clicking “Save as Draft” on the right bottom side. You can finish your application later.
  • After you make amendments in a section, click the “Next Step” button to go to the next one.
  • Some fields (gray-shaded) cannot be amended.
  • In the “Contact Details” section, make sure your contact number and email are up-to-date.
  • You can also make changes in the “Authorized Signatory” section, where you can add or remove people with the required documents.
  • When you reach the last section, review all your information and changes carefully.
  • Click the declaration button at the bottom to submit your application. Click “Yes” to confirm.
  • After submitting, you’ll get a notification by email about the approval or rejection of your application.
  • If more documents are needed, the FTA will contact you by email.
  • You’ll get a reference number after submission. Write down this number for any future communication.
  • You can check the portal anytime to see real-time updates about your amendment.

Bullet Points to Remember

  • Log in with the correct credentials or UAE Pass.
  • Read the “Instructions and Guidelines” before you start.
  • Only amend the fields allowed by the system.
  • Save your work as a draft if you’re missing any documents.
  • Keep your contact info updated for communication.
  • Write down your reference number for tracking.
